CPL 2026 Opening Week: Dates, Match Order and a Simple Fan Checklist

The 2026 Caribbean Premier League starts on Friday, August 7, and the first ten days already give fans plenty to track. The tournament runs through September 20, with 39 matches spread across eight Caribbean grounds. A little preparation makes the opening stretch much easier to follow.

The simplest starting point is the complete CPL 2026 schedule. It lists every fixture in date order and shows the local start time at each host venue. That local-time detail matters because the tournament moves between islands, while viewers may be following from Pakistan, the United Kingdom, North America or elsewhere.

The first three matches are all in St Vincent

Arnos Vale Stadium hosts the opening block. Jamaica Kingsmen face Antigua & Barbuda Falcons on Friday, August 7 at 7pm local time. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots play Trinbago Knight Riders at the same time on Saturday, August 8. Antigua & Barbuda Falcons then meet Saint Lucia Kings on Sunday, August 9.

That three-night sequence is useful for getting familiar with the seven-team field. Jamaica Kingsmen are new for 2026, while Trinbago Knight Riders begin the season as defending champions. The schedule splits after the opening weekend

After a rest day on Monday, August 10, the fixture list moves into two venue blocks. Jamaica Kingsmen play Barbados Tridents at Sabina Park on Tuesday, August 11. Saint Lucia Kings host St Kitts & Nevis Patriots at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground on Wednesday, August 12.

From there, Jamaica and Saint Lucia alternate as the main hosts:

• August 13: Jamaica Kingsmen v Guyana Amazon Warriors at Sabina Park
• August 14: Saint Lucia Kings v Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground

A four-step checklist for following CPL 2026

What happens after opening week?

The league phase contains 35 matches, with each franchise scheduled to play ten times. The top four teams progress to the playoffs at Kensington Oval in Barbados. The Eliminator is scheduled for September 16, followed by Qualifier 1 on September 17, Qualifier 2 on September 18 and the final on Sunday, September 20.
